Managing Partner and Chairman of «Yakovlev and Partners», Andrey Yuryevich Yakovlev, participated in the plenary session «Features of legal business 2030 - what will change with the modernization of the system «Dispute resolution» in Russia». The event was devoted to the upcoming major judicial reform, which is required because of the enormous pressure on the judicial system.
In his speech, Andrey Yuryevich gave an impressive statistic: «On average, the chairman of the district court handles 500 cases a year, and sometimes a district judge even gets to 2000». The total number of cases processed in 2024 exceeded 42 million. According to Andrey Yuryevich, up to 40% of them, so-called «accounting» cases (non-payment for CWC, fines), could be initially analyzed by artificial intelligence.
«Technologically it is already possible, the political will has also appeared», - noted the managing partner «Yakovlev and Partners», bearing in mind the legislative initiative to consider part of the disputes through the portal «State Services».
Andrey Yuryevich Yakovlev also touched on the implications of these changes for the legal community. The legal profession will evolve: in the new system, he will become a risk manager carrying out complex legal expertise. The lawyer of the future must be prepared to learn new, including digital, tools.
